What Does Women’s Health Involve?
Women experience various health concerns as they age, and regular checkups with a highly trained medical professional may become more important now than ever. Typically, women are exposed to more medical screenings to check for breast cancer, depression, diabetes, and other long-term or serious conditions. In many cases, diagnosing these conditions early can be the key to a full life. Some of the women's health services we offer at Bridgewater Primary Care & Cardiology include:
- Regular exams and preventive care and testing
- Pelvic exams that check the size and shape of internal female organs
- Pap test to identify cervical cancer at the opening of the uterus
- Clinical breast exams to check the breasts for possible lumps, distortions, or swelling
Our medical experts may also recommend other evaluations, such as a mammogram or a test for human papillomavirus or HPV.
Bridgewater Primary Care & Cardiology Reviews
The Best Practice I've Ever Been To... Always Respectful And Never A Waiting Forever Too Be Seen In The Waiting Room...And Always The Best Care...
Dr. John and his care team is absolutely amazing. Dr. John listened to me and all of my concerns. He checked in with me and called me back when I had questions. He ran ALL the necessary tests to rule out different factors. He took his time and I’m forever grateful to him.
The doctor pays close attention to details in reference to the issues I was experiencing. I have had doctors the past that would ignore or completely dismiss the issues, this was a major positive experience with this doctor to say the least. As a matter of fact, I have told two different people about my experience with him. Thank you so much.

What preventive healthcare measures are important for women?
Preventive healthcare plays a crucial role in promoting women's health and well-being. Important preventive measures for women include regular health screenings such as Pap smears, mammograms, pelvic exams, and bone density tests to detect early signs of disease or abnormalities. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, stress management, and avoiding risky behaviors such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption can help prevent chronic diseases and promote overall wellness.
When should women start seeing a gynecologist or women's health specialist?
Women are encouraged to establish a relationship with a gynecologist or women's health specialist during adolescence or when they become sexually active, typically around the ages of 13 – 15. Regular gynecological exams and screenings are recommended to monitor reproductive health, address any concerns or symptoms, and receive guidance on contraception, sexual health, and preventive care throughout different life stages.
